While busking at the 14th street subway station, a man from the Ukraine asked me about the musical saw. After I explained how the musical saw works, he asked me: “Do the clothes you wear affect the sound? If you wear different clothes, does a different quality of sound come out of the saw?”

At 3pm Raises group (Andean music band) came for thier permitted time slot at the Music Under New York busking spot. They were away for a year. Edgar, the leader of the band, told me that he bought land in South America that used to be sacred ground for his ancestors, the Inca.
The musician whom I only know by his Inca name, ‘the crow’, always has interesting things to say. We were talking about how time flies so fast – faster than it used to. He told me that this is not just a feeling we have, but there is actually a scientific explanation to that: Each year the moon gets further and further from Earth. This is why Earth spins faster and faster every year – thus time becomes shorter.

well, does the sound change when you wear different clothes? I am dying to know! Have you experimented with different sounds via clothes?! I find that concept fascinating.

        bummer!!
It reminded me of when the Grateful Dead asked the record producers they were working for to take expensive recording equipment out in nature to record different types of AIR for background tracks. They wanted to record desert air, forest air, ocean air, etc…lol. The executives did not approve that request needless to say!

On the topic of air – I remember vendors selling “Holy Land air” – these were empty cans, supposedly full of air from Israel…
