The Dogs are Great, It’s the People That are Difficult

While busking in the subway, on the platform of the 6 train:

Guy: “I saw you before, at the 14th street subway station”.
Saw Lady: “That’s my favorite busking spot”.
Guy: “You seem to always enjoy what you do”.
Saw Lady: “I’m very lucky to be able to do what I love and to share it with people. What do you do?”
Guy: “I’m a photographer”.
Saw Lady: “What kind of pictures do you like to take?”
Guy: “Dogs. I mostly photograph dogs”.
Saw Lady: “that’s cool – they are so cute”.
Guy: “Sometimes it’s fun, but sometimes it’s frustrating”.
Saw Lady: “Why, because it’s hard to get the dogs to stay?”
Guy: “No, the dogs are fine – it’s the owners. They try to do my job for me. they get in the way of the shoot. The dogs are great, it’s the people that are difficult”.
Saw Lady: “Do you have a dog?”
Guy: “No, I love dogs but I don’t want to spend the time it takes to have a dog.
Saw Lady: “It’s a commitment – like having a child”.
Guy: “Exactly. I hope I’ll see you again at 14th street.
